Getting a berth or mooring in Dartmouth can be a tricky thing!
The waiting list for leisure and commercial berths and moorings is huge but one thing is for certain, when you do get one there’s a good chance you’re going to need a tender to get to your boat.
We’d applied to The Harbour Master’s Office ages ago to get on the waiting list for a commercial mooring and to this date we’re still not guaranteed anything but when the opportunity arose to acquire the best tender we could get, we once again grabbed it with both hands.
We’d been keen to look at Ribeye boats...
For a while we’d been keen to look at Ribeye boats and what was in their small boat range that would be ideal for our tender. As Ribeye are a local Dartmouth based, family business, we had always wanted to include one of their boats in our plans and keep the local connection strong in The Fizz Boat brand.
Ribeye TS370
That and the fact that Ribeyes are great boats made it an easy decision when we found a Ribeye TS370 with a small outboard for sale locally.
I fairness we did have a choice of outboards but decided to go with the small Yamaha 4HP, since all we would be doing would be ferrying back and forwards to collect the Fizz Boat off its mooring.
If you’re looking for a tender, or even something bigger, the guys at Ribeye are a great source of advice and information and you can see their range of fantastic boats here https://www.ribeye.co.uk/our-boats
Cruising on The Dart early next year...
So now the Fizz Boat is nearing completion in Portugal, we have the main outboard engine and tender and engine, ready and waiting in storage, to bring everything together ready to start cruising on The Dart early next year.
