Well here we are, a week or so after our very first beer festival in Dartmouth and what a fabulous success it was!
The event, in aid of Rowcroft Hospice and The Flaval, was brought to you by Dartmouth Rotary and was held on Friday evening and all day Saturday, with live entertainment both days and as well as beer, wine and prosecco, there was a fabulous food service from Radius 7.
400 glasses of prosecco served
We hosted the Prosecco Bar, alongside our friends Michael Suttons Cellar who provided the red and white wine and its fair to say that despite it being a beer festival, our little bar at the end of the large racks of beer, was busy all through the event serving over 400 glasses of fizz and wine!
I think we can safely say that there are definitely Prosecco drinkers in town!
Fabulous Entertainment
Throughout the event, the entertainment was amazing, with a special shout out to the final band of the event 'The Loose Canons' who were especially awesome making sure everyone joined in, sang along and had a good boogie!
Food to die for!
One of the keys to the events success was making sure that there was a fabulous selection of food available and Radius 7 did exactly that. Having such fabulous food, meant people stayed around longer, drank more and of course that meant that more funds were raised! We sampled a couple of their dishes, the fish cakes and the cheesy potatoes, both delicious. I am glad we made our food selection early as I know they did so well, they sold out of many of their items.
Over £4000 raised
So i guess what it all boils down to, is the final figure of what money was raised for the two fabulous charities and its great to see that final figure was over £4000 with over 350 people through the door!
I believe this is the first year that Dartmouth Rotary have organised this event in their own right and we know first hand how difficult it can be so hats off to them for a fabulous, well organised, well attended event and we are really looking forward to next year!
